Some have the luxury to travel the world and capture some amazing 'eye candy', but most of us are financially limited to our immediate localities. I had the privilege of visiting the Gaylord-Texan Resort in Grapevine, TX this past weekend where I discovered over a hundred beautiful images from which I used to create a new temporary gallery on Odontus.net.
Sure - resorts are made to possess incredible beauty, BUT there is much to be discovered in our own backyards! It's not about the photographer's immediate environment, but what he/she decides to limit to what the camera's viewfinder sees. The smaller image shown here is actually a path I had dug through the snow with an effectively-placed flashlight while living in West Virginia - an opportunity I took thanks to Mother Nature. It's not just about what your environment consists of, but what AFFECTS it. Add a little creativity and you can TRULY 'make a silk purse from a sow's ear'!
